What is telemedicine?

Telemedicine is an appointment online rather than in-person.

How is telemedicine conducted?

A client and a psychiatrist conduct an online appointment by videoconference with personal computers.

How do we connect online?

Telemedicine sessions are conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant telemedicine platform provided by PhysicianVisitâ„¢

How do you prescribe medications?

Prescriptions for medications will be transmitted electronically, or called in, to your pharmacy.

What appointments can be online?

Follow-up appointments can be online when appropriate.

Can an initial consultation be online?

No.  We ask that new clients come in person for an initial consultation.

Do I have to be located in Virginia?

Yes.  Due to state medical licensing laws, telemedicine is available only for clients who are physically located in Virginia. 

Do I have to be at home?

No.  We ask that clients be in a private room, which can be at home, a private work office, or other private place.
